Joshua update

A lot of you have asked how Mr. Handsome (as we refer to him=)) is doing...

He was 10 weeks Thursday and just had his 2 month appt. He is weighing in at 12 lbs 4 ozs. The doctor is very pleased with his growth and everything else he is doing.

He starts occupational therapy this week to help with his tongue. I guess they have exercises we can do with him to help him keep it in better. The pediatrician expects that he will just "grow into it" and learn to deal.

The geneticsist (spelling??) should be calling this week with results from his MicroArray test. As you may remember from previous post (Titled "Our Boy"), this is a super detailed test that will direct the geneticsist to what syndrome, if any, Joshua may have. I will post follow up info when we hear anything.

Joshua has his hernia surgery at the end of this month... we are much looking forward to this as his little pee pee area just looks like it hurts the boy.

Other then that, he is doing great. We are going to start working on a little more of a schedule then the free for all we have been allowing around here. He is quite the cuddler and would prefer to be held every moment of the day (thanks to the NICU) but that life style is just not going to work in reality. He also has earned the name "Snack Shack" for his love to snack all day. I can't get much of anything done with an "attachment". He is also starting to smile a little for us. A little later then the ladies, but the therapists/pediatrician are not worried at all because they gauge his progress on his adjusted age, which is only 6 weeks, not to mention, apparently some kids don't smile until they are 3 months old. He also cooed at me for the first time just today! So cute. I love it!

Pacific Grove Visit

My Aunt and Uncle live in Pacific Grove, just a hop, skip and jump from Mike's "Policeman House", so when we visit Mike, we try to hook up with my family. This time we lucked out because my parents happened to be around also. This was the first time we had all been together at one time in 7 years! It was so fun to have all the kids together. My girls just adore their cousins! My youngest cousin is 2 years to the DAY!! older than Kailee. They are both July 31 babies.

We had such a great time, amazing food, fun and relaxation. Mike camped out on the couch because he had just had his knee surgery that morning, but the rest of us stayed busy. The kids did a few Minute to Win It games, played Ping Pong, jumped on the trampoline, and played with the chinchilla babies. My Aunt is a talented photographer and captured lots of fun pics from the evening. They downloaded in reverse order...
Cousin Jake with Joshua
Cousin Angus
Cousin Cal Addie and a chinchilla baby
and Kailee with the other baby...
We walked to the beach to see the sunset and got lots of neat pictures!

Minute To Win it Games
This one you have to get the cookie from your forhead to your mouth with no hands:

In this game you have to use a spaghetti noodle to pick up penne pasta, again, no hands allowed.
It's rather entertaining to watch! Stay tuned for more minute to win its... we just had a Minute to Win It bbq with friends and did a bunch of the games. We will be having more of those get togethers. For those of you who don't even know what I am talkin about... it's a show on tv... google it, you will be entertained. I promise. We are a little obsessed with it around here =)

Cutie Pie

The next week we went up to Salinas to stay at Mike's "Policeman House" while he got his knee surgery. While we were up there we went and saw my Aunt, Uncle and cousins (those pics to follow), had dinner with friends from college, met some families from Mike's office and just kind of laid low.
Here is the Big Man ready to go out for a night on the town...

The next event....

Our great friends the Browns come camp on the coast pretty regularly and we always jump on the chance to go "camp" for the evening... without the hassle of actually packing anything more than an evenings worth of gear. Plus, Addie gets to hang with her best bud (and future husband, if the parents have any say in it) Colton. His dad is Josh, our Josh's namesake =)

They are pretty inseperable when they are together (Addie and Colton... and Josh and Mike).

Cake and ice cream to celebrate Josh's 32nd birthday!!! He is so OLD!!!!
Then they became posers:
And of course, Kailee was the babysitter for Lincoln, Colton's little brother who is a year old. That girl just loves babies. And they love her back!!

What have we been up to lately????

LOTS!!!

I will catch you up as quickly as I can... I have lots of pics, I hope you enjoy!

First off for summer was ABC's (a big church in town - Atascadero Bible Church) Vacation Bible School. Kailee was thrilled to be involved as tons of people from all different churches (ours included) do this VBS so she got to hang with lots of her pals for a week! They do tons of awesome activities and then put on a big show at the end for the parents to come and watch. On the finale night, they dress up head to toe in their groups color - PURPLE this year.
She had purple hair (temporarily), purple hankerchief, purple nails, purple make-up, and her cute purple tie died shirt they made on the first day. She loved it!

While we waited for the star of the show (our star!) Addie got to reconnect with her good friend JoJo from preschool. They are too stinkin' cute together!
After the show, the kids got to have ice cream and then we headed to the drive-in in SLO with our other half, the McDermott's and watched Toy Story 3 and Karate Kid. The kids had an absolute blast and thought it was so funny that we watched a movie in the car! Joshua slept the entire time. It was the best $16 we ever spent. I never knew the drive-in was so cheap! We will definitely be doing it again before summer is over. And no, I didn't get any pics of the event... sad.

After that, my parents came to town for a few days. They hadn't seen Joshua since he came home from the hospital, so it was a very exciting visit! He is huge compared to what he was the last time they saw him.

We put my Dad in charge for a bit while my mom and I did an Insanity workout. He did so well! I was very impressed =)

Now, on to the next set of pics....

Water day...

Church had Water Day Friday. It also happened to be the coolest day we had had in weeks... only 65 ish. Basically the kids were freezing!!! I didn't get many pics but these are my faves. Both from the watermelon eating contest.

Addie didn't win... she slowly ate her one piece. She didn't quite get the contest part. I think she thought they just were letting them all eat watermelon around a table together. She sure looked cute though!

Becky jamming watermelon into Gabriel's mouth so he could win... he ended up eating like 13 pieces!
There was a lot of watermelon juice all over. The kids had a blast, depite the freezing cold!

Our friend Lauren

My friend Lauren's brithday was June 6. Since both of our schedules were so insane, it took 2 weeks for us to get together. She came up last week and we had a yummy dinner with chocolate fudge cake for dessert. The kids love Lauren and can't wait for her visits. They literally sit and look at the clock and give me the time countdown.
Notice the sweet hair do the girls gave her =) Happy Birthday Lauren! We love you and are so happy we got to celebrate with you!
