Boat time!

Mike bought a boat in November and worked his little fingers to the bone "remodeling" it. By April it was ready to go! We had so much fun just cruising around the lake for the day. The girls each took turns driving and thought they were such big kids!

While we were out, I "practiced" some open water swimming to overcome my near drowning experience from March.

While I swam the crew hung out on the shore and adventured. The tube made a great play pen for Jman.
The girls found out the bottom of the back seats could create a "house". This is where they hung for the rest of the afternoon... except when we were driving, of course.

Jman took his turn driving. The kid is all boy. Any steering wheels, cars, whatever, he is drawn to it.

And then he crashed out on the drive back to the boat ramp.

We had a blast creating memories with our little boaters!!

April Fools!!!

I am not a huge practical joker, but I do like a funny prank here and there. Particularly if I am not the "victim". This year, I asked the kids if they would like to play a joke on their best friends and their dad. Of course, the answer was yes. So, onto google we went. Here is what we came up with...

A "sponge" cake. Given to our friends Anabelle and Dawson (I didn't get a pic of the aftermath, darn it.) We frosted sponges and sprinkled them up. The "victims" went to slice into the cake and found it a bit difficult. HEE HEE!!!
The next "victim" was dad. What do you get when you eat the cream filling out of an oreo and replace it with white toothpaste?? The perfect dad prank. "Here Dad! Have an Oreo!!"
Dad, "OH, what is this???" Then, the evil cackling from the pranksters... MUAAHHAHHHAA!

April Showers!!

My sister-in-law Cari had a baby!!! Her shower was amazing! The theme was Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. There were adorable tea cups and cuteness everywhere. I didn't get many pics as I had a short, blond assistant who was requiring too much attention:)
How fun is this cake??
The girls LOVED the candy bar. Duh. Why wouldn't they???This is Mike's cousin's little one, Lucy. They are about 4 months apart. She is adorable and very smiley.

Misc fun March pics

This is just a handsome little tiny man:)
This is that same handsome tiny man who is madly in love with his big sister Kailee and her bathrobe. It was a brief phase, but he definitely loved it. So soft and cozy. And since I am writing this almost a year after the pic was taken, I can say he is such a texture/cozy guy. He loves blankets. Sleeps with 3-5 every night. His favorite is his geegee that is satin and minky. That thing goes everywhere.

March MOMMA!

The best part of March, in my humble opinion, is MY BIRTHDAY! And a great one it was!!!

My wifey (for new readers, my BFF) brought donuts and flowers to me in the morning!
And made my favorite cake that we have dubbed "Kari's Birthday Cake". It has taken a few years, and is now PERFECT!! Several of my girls came over and enjoyed cake and wine. It was perfect.

And now onto the other March MOMMA event... the first triathlon of the season. It was March 27. It was freezing!!!!

The best training buddy a girl could ask for, Miss Bethany Sobraske!!!!

We thought we were sooo tough and cute:) Turns out just Bethany was tough... I almost drowned.

Luckily we had great cheerleaders... My Addie Ray and her bestie Anabelle Lee My sweet wifey, who made the great signage! And of course, the best husband and big girl Kailee. They are so great to hang out at these crazy events I drag them along to. I love seeing them at all the transitions! Their cheering always makes me keep going!

After almost drowning, I made up time on the bike and the run. Thank goodness. I really thought the race was done after the swim. My hands were so freezing I couldn't even get out of my wetsuit. Let alone put shoes on. Andddd I finished strong!! Into the arms of my sweet babies!

I even placed... 3rd in my age division!

Guess what I got for my prize??? Not a medal. Not a plaque. OLIVE OIL!!! I have never worked that hard for olive oil in my life.

More of my cheerleaders!!!

Leprachaun revisit!

I know you have all been waiting 9 months for the big reveal about the leprauchaun!! Oh wait... you weren't??? Let me refresh your memory... We set the trap and the next morning we could hear scratching in the box of the trap!! The girls carefully lowered it to the floor so they could see into the trap. They carefully opened the door (not sure what their plan was in the event the leprachaun JUMPED out at them!) and inside was SARAH! Our guinea pig! That tricky leprachaun "kidnapped" Sarah and put her in the trap. The kids thought it was the funniest thing in the world!! Once that excitement was over, the girls realized there were green footprints on their faces, arms and the bathroom sink!! That leprachaun is just crazy!!! Can't wait to see what antics he is up to next year!

I'm BAAAACCKKKK!

Holy cow. It has been a very long time. Ridiculously long. Sorry folks. Lots has happened and I am going to do a brief synopsis of each event so I can get this year's blogs bound and on my coffee table!

Flashback to March....

I had extra marshmellows, so what better use for them then a CHUBBY BUNNY CONTEST!!!

And once the girls faced the challenge, Mike was up for it! It's so funny to show the girls these funny games. The look on their face when we describe the "game" was hysterical enough!
