New Years Day Gift

I got a present today. From my wifey Beth. She knew I was in a "mood" taking down Christmas, cleaning and organizing. Sooo... she called and asked if I wanted her to kidnap my kids and take them to the park. Duh. My kids and her kids play quite well together. They are practically siblings and if you play your cards right, they are just the good part of siblings, not the bickering. They headed to Santa Margarita park and had a BLAST! They rounded out the afternoon with hot cocoa at Starbucks. Addie got an early b-day gift b/c she told an old man her birthday was January 3 and he gave her a dollar! It pays to be the social butterfly, so long as she is under supervision! Her best friend Anabelle told him her birthday was Februrary 8th and she wasn't so lucky. Guess she'll have to find her own old man too woo 2 days before her big day.

The best part of the day for me was getting all the Christmas Wonderland down, furniture dusted, normal decor back, all closets organized, baseboards dusted AND I designed the shelves Mike is going to build me in my closet so I can make room in the baby's closet. We were all exhausted this evening. Thanks Beth for being the best friend a girl could ask for!!

Here are pics from the kids' day. FYI, for those who don't already know: Dawson is 5 and Anabelle (Addies BEST friend) is going to be 4 in February. And if you take Addie and Anabelle out alone, you will, typically without fail, get asked if they are twins.
